Your tasks

As Head of Department, you will assume overall responsibility for the commercial and operational aspects of the General Cargo business unit
Management and oversight of the entire service delivery process for our clients
Identifying and acquiring new accounts, including contract negotiations
You will be responsible for the professional and disciplinary management of seven commercial staff members and your operational colleagues
You will ensure the efficient handling of all processes within your division, whilst optimising and harmonising existing processes
Pricing strategies for each client segment will be developed or refined by and in consultation with you. You will be responsible for efficient management and operational cost stability
You are responsible for planning capacity and staff deployment
Ensuring and continuously monitoring compliance with relevant quality management requirements, including FSSC, organic certification, etc.
You are also the direct point of contact for your team and the liaison between management, staff and customers

Your profile

Completed commercial apprenticeship or a degree in business administration
Several years’ experience managing a department in a logistics environment (manufacturing, freight forwarding, etc.) within the field of account management.
Experience in managing staff.
Entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivation and a high level of commitment
Strong sense of responsibility and cost awareness
Good analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of logistics, inventory management and sales processes
High level of assertiveness, commitment and willingness to perform, as well as excellent communication skills
Very good command of German and a good command of English
