Operations Manager (m/f/d)

In this leadership role, you will report directly to the Managing Director and assume overall responsibility for the Operations division. Through your continuous improvement initiatives, you will contribute to increasing productivity and the performance of our facilities. As the direct point of contact on-site, you will be available at our facilities within Bremen.
Your tasks
- Providing technical and managerial leadership to direct reports and operational staff across multiple operational areas, comprising approximately 50 employees
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement in production, warehouse logistics and workforce management, with the aim of increasing productivity
- Promoting and ensuring an efficient organisation while creating optimal operating conditions across all sites
- Managing and monitoring cross-site resource allocation, workforce planning (including job sharing and resource pooling), and identifying operational bottlenecks
- Ensuring compliance with quality standards and monitoring their consistent implementation
- Implementing and overseeing continuous improvement and modernisation projects in collaboration with other departments
- Developing operational KPIs to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement
- Establishing and further developing leadership structures across the operational sites
- Driving the implementation and continuous development of the Vollers digitalisation strategy
- Leading the integration of new operational sites into the existing organisation and processes
- Managing the procurement of production materials
Your profile
- Several years’ experience in managing a production facility or operation, ideally in a logistics context (manufacturing, freight forwarding, etc.)
- Experience in leading and motivating staff
- A hands-on approach
- Entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivation and a high level of commitment
- A proven track record of improving efficiency within a manufacturing company
- Good analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of logistics and inventory management processes (LEAN production)
- A high degree of assertiveness, commitment and willingness to perform, as well as excellent communication skills
- Proficiency with IT
- Good command of German; knowledge of English is an advantage but not essential
