Incident at cocoa warehouse at terminal Hoogtij

Zaandam, The Netherlands - On the evening of April 12th, a fire broke out at our cocoa warehouse located on Hoogtij, Zaandam, The Netherlands. The cause of the fire is unknown, and a thorough investigation is currently on its way to determine the circumstances.

The fire caused damage to part of the conveyor and crane system. Some cocoa stored was damaged by falling debris and by extinguishing water.

We are grateful that no one was injured in the incident. Our immediate focus is on ensuring the safety of our employees and mitigating any potential impact on our stakeholder.

Please note that the remaining operations in the Netherlands are completely unaffected by this event.

We are deeply thankful for the professional response by the Zaanstreek fire department, the local authorities, our stakeholders and all contractors involved.

Furthermore, we want to thank the entire cocoa community for all the messages of support and empathy which we received in the last 24 hours.

Please rest assured that the entire Vollers organization will work tirelessly to restore the functionality of this state-of-the-art facility.

Sincerely,

Christian Vollers
